HDR Image
In class, we learned about how we could take many different photos with different exposures and combine them into one photo with good exposure everywhere.
The first four photos here are the original photos. I tried to get them to be framed exactly the same way each time, but it was difficult. You can definitely see the change in exposure, however.
Then, through Adobe Bridge and Photoshop, they were combined to a new, "HDR" image.
My final image was pretty blurry, but when I checked the "remove ghosts" box, it became slightly clearer.

Some old favorites :)
Recently I've been reconnecting with a lot of special people from my past, and this had made me look through older pictures on my computer to reminisce. Through that, I came across a few pictures that I've taken in the past that relate closely to some of the themes we've been trying to capture in class.
I took this a few years ago in the early morning with my dad. He helped me set up the camera the right way and the shutter was held open for about 10-15 seconds (if I remember correctly). I saw this and thought about how we had just started to capture motion in our photographs :)
This was also taken a few years ago near a river parkway. I like the way the sun "lights up" the pathway there. It was really neat how the sun kind of followed the path. This picture has been uploaded many times so it's pretty grainy, but I still like it :) This goes with our capturing light exercise.
This photograph incorporates both capturing light and motion. The river is blurred because the shutter was held open for a second or two, and the light plays a large role because it not only gets carried with the river as it moves, but because it really accents parts of the photograph (like the plants on the side of the river) that normally wouldn't be of any value.

Perspective and Scale
Perspective
Perspective
Scale (attempted...)
Scale (attempted...)
With this photoshoot, I tried to capture things from a different point of view, or perspective. I also tried to play with scale in the photographs; make things appear bigger or smaller than what they really are. I struggled with this half of the assignment. In the first scale picture, the item looks larger, but you can tell it's just because of the camera's lens. I haven't quite figured out how to make it really look different than it is. In the second scale picture, I tried to play with the wings in the figure, to make it look like the right wing was much larger and noticeable than the left wing, but again, you can tell it's just the angle of the camera. This is something I will have to continue working on to improve.

The light shines from the inside out
Isn't it amazing how
you could be running for years
and end up in the same place you started;
satisfied?
